Jim was born and raised in Winsted Connecticut, and his first time playing golf was when I]he was 12 years old. Jim was taught the game based around fundamentals which molded the way he teaches today. Jim's first job was at the Norfolk Country Club where his passion for golf grew even greater. In 2011, Jim chose to attend the Golf Academy of America in Myrtle Beach. Upon completion of the 2 year Associate Program, Jim returned back to Connecticut to take a job at Lyman Orchards. Jim worked at Lyman for 3 years with the last year as the director of Junior Golf. In 2015 Jim decided to take a position as the lead instructor for Suzy Whaley Golf. This is where his passion for teaching grew infinitely. During the last 6 years of work for Suzy Whaley Golf and Lyman Orchards, Jim was fortunate to be the coach of 3 National qualifying PGA Junior League teams that represented the state of Connecticut at the National Championship. In 2018, Jim chose to come work at Fairview Farm. A course near and dear to his heart as it is very close to home. With the help and support of the facility, Jim and Head Professional Bob Sparks were able to coach another team to the National Championship. Teaching is his passion, helping is his motivation. Each and every lesson is unique. No one person is the same, therefore most lessons are never the same. That is one of the many reason Jim loves the game. In the off-season Jim coaches high school basketball for Thomaston High School, and continues to teach Golf indoors.
